teen ambassadors

Tudor House Teen Ambassadors will consist of 14 teens from the Roanoke Valley. Initially, we will draw from sophomores, juniors and seniors in January 2023. Seniors will remain active in the group until August 20th. Sophomores and Juniors will be invited to reapply in August 2023 for the year ending in August 2024. At that time, the term will run from August to August, with the option for rising juniors and seniors to apply. The Executive Director of Tudor House will oversee the group, meeting monthly at Bradley Free Clinic on Tuesday or Thursday nights. The group will elect officers and form committees for events and projects.

Partnership with Virginia Children’s Theatre

For the past 2 years, Tudor House has partnered with VCT to bring suicide awareness and education to youth through performance art. VCT4TEENS is a powerful medium that allows parents and teens to attend a performance and participate in a “talk back” afterwards with trained volunteer counselors provided by Tudor House. Together, VCT and Tudor House work to normalize conversations about suicide, mental health and community resources.

VCT4TEENS production of APOLOGIES took place February 25-26, 2022.

It was an impactful weekend of three shows, audiences full of parents and teens, and honest discussion with mental health professionals after the play.

Mental Health Video

In May 2021, Tudor House produced a Mental Health video to highlight all the ways to promote your mental health. Children and adults from our area participated. Please enjoy watching Mental Health Matters.
