Dr. Thorell has been the Executive Director of Tudor House since it was founded in 2020. Her background includes 10 years in the counseling profession providing mental health services to clients and families. Upon receiving her doctorate from UVA, Kathleen taught master-level counselors at Virginia Tech, Radford, and Lynchburg University.

After taking some time to focus on her family, she has returned to her counseling and education roots. She is motivated by honoring the legacy of her friend, Louis Tudor, and advocating for the mental health of those in the Roanoke community and beyond. Kathleen also loves watching her three children pursue their passions, being outdoors, and traveling.
